GEOSPAN COMPLETES STREET LEVEL IMAGING FOR THE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION (RTC) OF SOUTHERN NEVADA

Minneapolis, MN – July 31 - GEOSPAN Corporation, announced today that it has completed the implementation of GEOVISTA® street-level imagery of the major roads in the greater Las Vegas area.

The RTC is utilizing the imagery to help in manage one of the fastest growing transportation networks in the US. All of the imagery is accessible to multiple government entities through a web based ArcIMS implementation along with limited public access to promote the bike trail network. Training was completed for approximately 100 RTC, Nevada DOT, Clark County, City of Las Vegas and several other communities where imagery was collected. The project also included the successful building of GIS layers representing traffic signal and median locations from the imagery.

Jerry Duke, the RTC Project Manager commented “Having contracted for mobile mapping services from a different vendor in the past, we have a strong appreciation of the amount of visual detail that GEOVISTA imagery brings to the desktop. The multiple year contract enables us to keep the imagery current as an increasing number of users continue to gain efficiencies in utilizing this powerful tool.”
