Meeting the real property information needs in the greater Chicago area
 The Multiple Listing Service of Northern Illinois (MLSNI) and a subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp formed Information Services of Illinois L.L.C. (ISI) to meet the property information needs in the Chicago area. As a result, ISI is the largest single-source provider of real property information in the greater Chicago area, with information for more than 2.5 million parcels. ISI covers seven counties in northeastern Illinois - Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will counties. Sales data from recorded documents is captured and updated weekly. ISI's comprehensive 24-hour online data-retrieval system offers searchable data, including property owners' names, property addresses, legal descriptions, past and current sales data, demographic characteristics, past and current property taxes, and changes in ownership. |

ISI identified the need to include parcel level access to plat map data in conjunction with their property information service in the greater Chicago area. |

 GEOSPAN introduced the ability to web browser enable plat map data from multiple Counties through a common interface that could be linked right into Stewart’s national portal.
In 2004, ISI licensed the GEOVISTA web portal service beginning with coverage for nearly 2 million parcels. This service displays the specific parcel area of a scanned paper map by simply clicking on the link from the PropertyInfo.com portal. Parcel data from additional counties were subsequently added that had source data in digital GIS data formats. The retrieval capabilities were simplified to a point that ISI clients did not even have to know what County the property resided in and the user interface was the same regardless of the County source data format. |
