Most listings today are viewed through on-line mapping portals to best answer the all-important questions regarding where a home for sale is located. With the addition of aerial photos through these mapping portals, bad addresses or the use of approximate property locations display the incorrect property. The unprecedented pace of new home building compounded the problem since new properties are the most lacking of location data. |

The NorthStarMLS first became familiar with GEOSPAN’s precise property location capabilities through the licensing of GEOVISTA® Neighborhood Tours that were integrated into their listings. Beginning in 2005, the NorthStarMLS contracted with GEOSPAN to provide property location data for all new listings in the MLS system. The GEOVISTA® Neighborhood Tours show an aerial map and the view of each property. GEOSPAN provides the geocoding service for the RMLS to determine the location of addresses and to identify whether or not each address can be validated. |
